About June

Introducing June Enhelder...

Born in Reno, NV

I have always had an interest in animals, my father was a hunter and a very good sportsman. Being with him I have learned about mule deer and their habitat.

I took art classes when I could in school, mostly I am a self taught artist. I also do horse and dog portraits and have made donations to the Elk Foundation, Mule Deer foundation, and the Nevada Big Horn Foundation.

In 1963, I learned to paint by the paint by number paintings. It showed me the shadows, the colors, how to handle the colors and blend them to look real.

1963 was my first painting by myself. I did the Mule Deer jumping over a rock in grand canyon scenery, I also did the mother grizzly protecting her cubs from the distant male bear.

I then went to work as a grocery checker to make a living, now I am retired and doing my paintings and first edition prints. Between doing research in books and going out in the field, I've learned to do better and better.
